JANET ALDANA
Janet was born and raised in Southwest Detroit by her parents who immigrated from Jalisco, Mexico. She graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 2017 after having double majored in Journalism & Screen Studies and Hispanic Studies. After expanding her filmmaking skills, she wanted to change paths and begin working in immigration law.
After years of witnessing the many challenges that the immigrant community constantly faced, she realized she wanted to leave filmmaking as a hobby and instead, get involved in something that could help the kind of people she grew up around who taught her what resilience was.
Now, at Palmer Rey, Janet assists the attorneys in preparing applications such as cancellation of removal for immigration court, adjustment of status, and naturalization, among others.
